| Where: | Washington, DC |

RFTW was created in 1989 by 2 Vietnam veterans. Their mission is to promote healing among ALL veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world. They strive to maintain a safe, supportive and private atmosphere in which all participants can reflect and heal on their journey to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. in the hope that they can return home to a new beginning.
Run For The Wall begins 10 days before each Memorial Day, arriving in DC for the Memorial Day weekend. RFTW participates in the Rolling Thunder Parade in DC to help raise awareness of POWs/MIAs who have still not been brought home from our wars. There are two routes, Central and Southern. Each route travels approximately 250 to 400 miles a day, stopping at memorials, schools, and VA hospitals to visit patients.
